The IRI 2024 Report provides an in-depth look at the impact of the Indigenous Reciprocity Initiative, highlighting the communities supported, funds distributed, and the ongoing efforts to strengthen Indigenous biocultures. This report reflects IRI’s commitment to fostering direct, trust-based giving and amplifying Indigenous-led initiatives across the Americas.

The Indigenous Reciprocity Initiative of the Americas (IRI) is a grassroots network of Indigenous community organizations fighting for land, water, food, medicine and culture.

Channels resources directly to Indigenous communities, bypassing large bureaucracies and ensuring greater local autonomy.

The Indigenous Reciprocity Initiative (IRI) achieved remarkable milestones:​

  • Raised over $288,000

    since its inception to support community-led Indigenous projects.​

  • Secured $118,838 in donations

    in 2024 alone, with 77.6% of contributions being less than $50, highlighting widespread grassroots support.​

  • Supporting 12 grassroots organizations

    across Indigenous territories in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States.​

Chacruna promotes reciprocity within the psychedelic community by supporting the protection of sacred plants and cultural traditions. We advance psychedelic justice by organizing critical conversations and amplifying the voices of women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, and those from the Global South in the field of psychedelic science.
